Abstract

A 78-year-old lady presented with abdominal pain and subsequent small bowel obstruction due to stone impaction. The patient had had a previous cholecystectomy making the many jejunal diverticulae the most likely source of the stone. This is a case of small bowel obstruction made distinctive by the cause of enterolith impaction. Paul Wilson is a consultant surgeon with University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Trust.
